Here are a few tips to help you start making movement in your life to gain clarity in what the meaning of balance is for you.
Start your day writing a list of what you intend to accomplish. You set up your day for success by putting intentions in place. This increases accountability and follow through by setting them and writing them down. Make this a daily practice. Intentions guide you in meeting the highest potential in your life. Not all intentions may be accomplished, but it is learning to give yourself a leg up and a direction in your life.
Complete necessary tasks first. Unexpected issues come up and you will feel a reduction of stress knowing you completed what was most critical and feed your sense of accomplishment. Remember to affirm to yourself a compliment in the process. (Hint: Making your bed first thing in the morning will start the day off with completing your first task. If one goal is made to start your day, one is more likely to have more goals accomplished in their day).
Give yourself a break:
Your house may not always be clean or desk is in mayhem, to do list numbers increase in the day, however everything will still be there when you are able to get to it. There is no super human pill, but there are the magic words, “I am not perfect, but I am perfectly human.” The fact is, you can do ANYTHING, but not everything. Learn to give yourself a break and find things to be grateful throughout the day. This makes happier people who feel a sense of balance.
Ask yourself these questions…what do I value most in my life? What am I not doing to get there? What is in balance? What is stopping me from being in balance? How would I feel when my life was in balance? These questions can open the door to your true potential and leading a more fulfilled life.
Self – Care:
Practice making you a priority in taking care of yourself. We are not always the best stewards at taking care of ourselves. If you are out of balance and do not make it a practice for self-care is opening the door to limit your potential and road of self -destruction. Incorporate a healthy exercise routine, good eating habits, find areas that energize you and you will be more likely find better balance in your life.
